Today Microsoft released what very well could be the last backwards compatibility update the Xbox 360 will ever see. At this point there are nearly 500 backwards compatible games. In a few interviews, Xbox management has stated that interest in this feature is not very high anymore stating that not many people use it anymore. Given that the users of such old games would need to be connected to Xbox Live in order for Microsoft to count them says that they are hardly using a scientific metric to gauge interest.

This update enabled compatibility for 80 new games and updated a handful of the pre existing emulators. Lots of sequels and/or prequels have filled this list. Many of them had related games already compatible with the Xbox 360. Lets hope this isn't the end as there are still a handful of games that I as well as others would love to see playable on the Xbox 360.
